Denied! Judge Rejects Plea Deal for Woman, 51, Who Plead Guilty to Sex With Boy, 15 - Jeni Lee Dinkel

Wow! Judge has finally stood up and said enough is enough: no more slap-on-the-wrist sentences for older women accused of having sex with underage boys. Yes, there have been a few cases where women did some time, but for the most part--at least in our humble experience covering these dastardly deeds--the men go to jail for 10 to 15 years and the women get probation or a few months at the most . . . but not this time.
Jeni Lee Dinkel, 51, the wife of former Cincinnati Bengal linebacker Tom Dinkel, had plead guilty to charges that she sexed up a 15-year-old friend of her son's. The plea deal would have included five years probation and registering as a sex offender. Dinkel would not be able to go go near the victim or his family and wouldn't be able to publicize her story by selling it to any TV program, book, movie or radio broadcast. In his decision, Judge Gregory Bartlett thought the deal for Jeni Dinkel was "too far off the norm." So it's back to the drawing board and another hearing will be held on July 16. (WLWT)
