Female Teacher, 40, Accused of Affair With 15-Year-Old Boy While She Lived With Family - Anastasia B. Pappas

According to police, Anastasia B. Pappas, 40 met her young friend when she was his fifth grade teacher but, of course, she allegedly waited until he was 15 before she started having an affair with him. According to his family, this happened after they befriended Ms. Pappas and invited her to live with them while she was having money problems. Mistake? Here's more from the Daily Herald:

A former fifth-grader’s teacher is accused of molesting him years later in Glendale Heights after she was befriended by his family.
Prosecutors charged Anastasia B. Pappas, 40, with criminal sexual assault in February 2006. The indictment was sealed from public view to protect the teen’s identity.
DuPage Circuit Judge Perry Thompson unsealed the file Wednesday as the criminal case moves closer to trial. Pappas is free on a $100,000 bond.
She is accused of having a one-year sexual relationship with the 15-year-old boy until Jan. 31, 2006, while living with his family. They met in 2001 when Pappas was his teacher at Black Hawk Middle School in Glendale Heights.
“The allegations have nothing to do with her employment,” defense attorney Michelle Moore said. “She was a great teacher and has a lot of great references.
“She’s a wonderful woman. It’s a tragic allegation.”
Authorities said Pappas became friends with the teen’s parents while teaching their son and, later, while she was having money problems, moved in to their home. She lived there about five years until the allegations arose.

Dad Pulled Over With Cocaine, Claims it Was Son's Graduation Present

Another "Father of the Year" Finalist: This guy was pulled over by cops for speeding and during the traffic stop they found cocaine in his car. His excuse? The cocaine was a present for his son who was graduating from high school. But wait, there's more! Omar Cruz Garza apparently also stole the car he was driving to get to the graduation, wrote bad checks to pay for the trip, and had also taken someone else's identification. A Mission man arrested Saturday night after a routine traffic stop in Goliad told deputies that the cocaine found in his vehicle was a graduation present for his son in Houston.
"I have no idea what he was thinking," said Sgt. Danny Madrigal, investigator with the Goliad Sheriff's Department. "We've never had anybody saying, 'I'm taking this to give to my son. He's graduating.'" However, Madrigal said, "The following day I spoke to him, and he told me it was for personal use."
Goliad County deputies Sgt. Gary Cowley and K9 Officer Martha Martinez pulled over Omar Cruz Garza, 35, for speeding within city limits.
The deputies suspected something was up when they saw items including a DVD player, a safe, power tools and camera inside the vehicle, Madrigal said, and searched the 2006 Dodge pickup.
"He just had a lot of things that you wouldn't normally carry if you were going to visit somebody," he said.
When deputies asked for Garza's license, he handed over a fictitious I.D., Madrigal said - likely because Garza is on parole until Friday.
"He probably thought he'd run into some troubles there with the parole board," Madrigal said. "But he had his name tattooed on his back, which was an indicator that he wasn't the guy he reported to be at first. We found another I.D. that turned out to be him."
Paperwork inside the safe contained the same name as the fraudulent I.D., he said. When officials contacted the Mission cardholder, they found he'd reported property taken in a residential burglary.
"Some of the loot was recovered," Madrigal said. "There's still other property in the vehicle we feel was taken in another residential burglary. Those investigations are being turned over to the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Department."
But wait, there's more.
Investigation showed the truck was reported stolen 12 hours earlier from a Mission used car lot.
"I've contacted the owner of the car lot, and he's expressed that he's going to file charges on it - for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Any time someone steals a motor vehicle, any county he passed can file charges. We'll be filing in Goliad County."
Thus far Garza has accumulated charges for unauthorized use of a vehicle, possession of a controlled substance and failure to identify, among traffic misdemeanors, Madrigal said. The possession charge carries a bond of $20,000 and $1,000 for failure to identify.

'The Apprentice' contestant Katie Hopkins is again involved in a sex scandal according to reports. She was recently caught in an embarrassing romp in a field with a married former colleague, Mark Cross, according to the UK Daily Mail. The pair met last year when Hopkins began work at Devon's Met Office.
According to the report and the photos, it appears that the pair were involved in a passionate embrace in a grassy paddock after visiting a local pub, and it appears that the woman is topless. The rather indiscreet couple opted for an al fresco romp, the paper reports.

DD Update: Plea Deal Expected For Woman In Teen Sex Case - Jeni Dinkel

Remember the story of the wife of a former Cincinnati Bengal Tom Dinkel, who allegedly had sex with a 15-year-old friend of her son's? Apparently a plea deal has been reached for Jeni Dinkel. Here's more from WLWT:

Jeni Dinkel, the wife of a former Cincinnati Bengal Tom Dinkel, entered a not guilty plea Tuesday in court to third-degree rape charges.
Her attorney said Dinkel’s plea is likely to change Thursday, when she is scheduled to face a judge again.
Kenton County Commonwealth Attorney Rob Sanders said the 15-year-old victim’s family has expressed support for a plea deal.
Sanders said the case has been a difficult one to prosecute because of what he saw as a double standard.
"The fact that some people don't think this is a crime because the victim is a male and the defendant is a female, (and) I obviously disagree with that view of the cases,” Sanders said.
Dinkel, whose husband accompanied her to court, faces up to five years in prison.

Teacher Arrested for Fondling Student's Breast, Claimed He Thought "Victim Found Him Attractive" - Kyle M. Hite

When Kyle M. Hite brushed up against the breast of a high school girl in math class the first time should thought it was accidentaly. Then, allegedly, it happened again and again. Now police are involved. Here's more from AZ Central:

A 25-year-old special education instructional aide at Westwood High School was arrested by Mesa police on suspicion of fondling a female student's breast in class.
The aide, identified by police as Kyle M. Hite, admitted he touched the victim's breast numerous times without her consent, saying "he thought the victim found him attractive," according to a Mesa police report.
Police are recommending that prosecutors charge Hite, who began work at the school since Feb. 21, with sexual abuse, the report said. Hite was arrested on Thursday, the last day of school. advertisement
At first, the student thought it was an accident when Hite's hand "brushed" her breast, but knew it was intentional when it happened again.
She said she complained to the teacher, but "he told her to knock off the attitude. The victim reports that the defendant touched her breast nearly every day after that," the report said.

$34, for waffles? Apparently two ladies in Key West, Florida thought that seemed a bit steep as well and decided to take their anger out on the cashier AND another customer. Here's more from CBS4:

It’s one thing to be upset about the food or service at a restaurant, but in Key West two customers turned their anger into a fistfight, berating a cashier, beating a woman who came to her aid, over a $34 breakfast tab.
Police in Key West say the women became upset when they were handed the tab at the 24-hour eatery on Roosevelt Avenue, and told the cashier they wouldn’t pay. When a bystander tried to speak up for the cashier, police say the two women attacked the helpful customer, pummeling her with their fists.
Witnesses told police the women ran off, stiffing the cashier for the tab. Police are looking for the pair, who Waffle House workers told police are often seen in the restaurant.
There was no word over what made the diners so upset that they were willing to beat someone up over their bill.

Mom Arrested Snorting Cocaine in Wal-Mart With 3-Year-Old in Cart

Another "Mother of the Year" nominee? This lady was caught on a security camera allegedly snorting cocaine with a straw while pushing her toddler around the store in a cart. Here's more from NY Daily News:

A Long Island mother was arrested at a Wal-Mart after she was spotted snorting heroin as she pushed her 3-year-old son in a shopping cart, police said yesterday.
Stacy Roe, 35, allegedly inhaled the powdered drug through a straw near the garden center of the Centereach store, police said.
Guards saw her on a surveillance camera and called cops.
"Security at Wal-Mart was viewing a surveillance video, and they surveyed her doing this, with the straw in her hand," said Sgt. Todd Barone of the Suffolk County Police Department.
Two plainclothes officers approached Roe about 6:20 p.m. on Saturday as she continued her shopping, officials said.

Lindsay Lohan Allegedly Arrested for DUI: "Usable Amount" of Cocaine Found in Car

Lindsay Lohan was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence Saturday after her convertible struck a curb, and investigators found what they believe is cocaine at the scene, police said.
Lohan, 20, and two other people were in her 2005 Mercedes SL-65 when it crashed on Sunset Boulevard around 5:30 a.m., Sgt. Mike Foxen said. It appeared Lohan was speeding, Lt. Mitch McCann said at an afternoon news conference.
Officers at the scene found a "usable amount" of a drug tentatively identified as cocaine, McCann said. He declined to say where the drug was found other than to say Lohan was not carrying it.
Lohan, who spent time at a rehabilitation center earlier this year, was driven in another car to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries, McCann said. The two other people in her car were not hurt.
Officers received a 911 call about the accident and arrested Lohan at the hospital for investigation of misdemeanor driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, McCann said.
She was released from custody because she was admitted to the hospital, police said.

Man Claims He Was Sleepwalking When He Molested 16-Year-Old BabySitter - Scott Axleburg

A jury found a Paulding County man who claimed he was sleepwalking guilty of aggravated sexual battery Thursday.
Scott Axleburg faces a minimum sentence of 10 years without parole and a maximum sentence of 20 years. Sentencing will take place June 8.
Axleburg claimed he was walking in his sleep when he fondled a 16-year-old babysitter.
The victim described a night three years ago when she was babysitting overnight so the defendant and his family could get an early start to his son’s baseball tournament and she would be there with his toddlers.
As she slept on the couch, she said Axelburg woke her up with his hand in her pants. She said that she jumped.
"He got up off his knees and he buttoned both buttons on his shorts and zipped up his pants and walked into his bedroom," said the girl.
When a detective questioned Axelburg on videotape, he denied anything happened at first.
"I didn’t do that. I didn’t do anything," said Axelburg.

Father of American Idol's Kellie Pickler Arrested For Selling Abandoned Cars? - Clyde "Bo" Pickler Jr

Wow, that takes some guts. Selling cars that don't belong to you to scrap yards(allegedly) is one thing, doing it after your daughter was made a star on American Idol is a whole 'nother deal. Take it from Kellie Pickler's dad, Clyde "Bo" Pickler Jr. Here's more from CMT:

Kellie Pickler's father is scheduled to appear in court on July 9 in Albemarle, N.C., after being arrested Friday (May 18) on a felony count of obtaining property under false pretense and three felony counts of larceny of a motor vehicle. Clyde "Bo" Pickler Jr., 42, is accused of stealing abandoned and disabled vehicles and illegally selling them to scrap yards. Bond was set at $26,000. The singer's father also faces two other court dates -- Thursday (May 24) for a misdemeanor charge of operating a vehicle without a license and June 12 for a separate misdemeanor larceny charge. Last year, he completed a three-year prison term in Florida for stabbing a man. After being abandoned by her mother at age 2, Kellie Pickler lived mostly with her paternal grandparents. A contestant during the 2006 season of American Idol, the singer reconciled with her father last year.

Female "Teacher of the Year" Accused of Affair With Female Student - Kanesa Hopkins, Goose Creek

Nothing like being named "Teacher of the Year" by your peers, then having them find out you had an affair with one of your students . . . whom you also taught in Sunday School! Here's more from the First Coast News:

Berkeley County's Teacher of The Year Kanesa Hopkins went from in front of a seventh grade classroom to behind bars.
The 31-year-old middle school teacher is accused of sexual misconduct with a former student.
Hopkins is accused of sexual misconduct with a then 14 year old female student.
According to court documents the girl was a seventh grade student at Westview Middle.
Investigators say the student and the teacher began writing letters to each other in 2001 and became close.
Hopkins was also the girl's Sunday School teacher.
Police say church officials questioned the amount of time the two spent together in December of 2002.

Teacher Accused of Forcing Kindergartner to Eat . . . Barbecue Sauce?

There has to be more to this story or this teacher must have been having a really bad day. Here's more from the Quad-Cities Online:

A Metro East teacher has been charged with misdemeanor battery after allegedly forcing a kindergartner to finish the barbecue sauce he had served himself at lunch, according to a report published on Saturday.

The 5-year-old boy's mother made the complaint to police on April 26, Bethalto Police Chief Alan Winslow told The (Alton) Telegraph. The mother told police her child gagged when forced to eat the sauce the previous day.

The complaint led to a misdemeanor charge filed April 30 against Parkside Elementary School teacher Deborah Lamere, 59, of Bethalto. A telephone message left for Lamere over the weekend by The Associated Press was not returned.

The newspaper obtained information about the case from police through a Freedom of Information Act request after hearing from parents. The parents said the boy was forced to eat sauce he'd squirted on his tray with a spoon in front of the teacher, The Telegraph reported.

Male Teacher Accused of Sex With Boy at School - Kirk Hellwig, Columbia High School

At school, during school hours? That takes some guts, if true. Apparently rumors started and then came an investigation. Here's more from Capital News 9 - link includes video clip:

Kirk Hellwig, a 37-year-old social studies teacher at Columbia, was arrested by East Greenbush Police Monday morning. Hellwig is charged with engaging in a sexual act with a 16-year-old male student on school grounds and during school hours.

"Anytime we have a situation of this nature where our educational community is dismayed by a personal act, it causes all of us to have some pain," said Brewer.

Students reported rumors of the relationship to the principal on Thursday. Hellwig has worked for the school district since 1999 as an American history and government teacher with no prior complaints.

"When it hits home, and it's so close to us, it's kind of scary. And my kids are young. They're not in school yet, but it makes me think. Should I homeschool my children?" said Kendra Durivage, an East Greenbush resident who lives close to the school.

The school district is sending home a letter to parents. One father we spoke to said he was sexually abused when he was a student at Columbia High School, and he said he's not surprised it's happening once again.

"We are very aware of sexual predators in high schools, especially this high school," said Robert Reese.

Students Pass Around Picture of Topless Teacher - El Reno, Oklahoma

She had the picture on her cell phone. Then one of the students in her class got a hold of the phone. Now the pictures are being passed around like a bad cold and parents want the teacher fired. But for what? Here's more from WLTX:

A racy picture of a teacher in Oklahoma somehow fell into the hands of students. Now parents are calling for the teacher's resignation.
From one student to another, the pictures spread like gossip: the rumors of a topless teacher, parents say should not be covered up.
"All the students have her picture on their cell phones," says Ray Coat, a concerned parent. "She should be held to a higher standard because she's around all these young people, and she's very influential to these children. There's no reason she should be around these kids."
But it's the kids, police say, who took the photo from the woman's phone.
"A student at school got a hold of the picture and has blue-toothed that over to other students."
Police say the teacher took the picture at home but parents say having the pictures in class should make her absent from school forever.

The pictures follows Lavigne's criticism of chart rival Britney Spears for using her looks and sexuality to sell music. Lavigne said, "I'm more about a performance, she's more about entertainment and sex, being a sex symbol and trying to look like she's having sex."

The man who once played Bud Bundy on TV's 'Married... With Children' has been arrested on charges of marijuana possession and disorderly intoxication, New Smyrna Beach police said.
David Anthony Faustino, 33, also known as his character, Bud Bundy, was arrested in New Smyrna Beach over the weekend after an officer saw him arguing in the middle of the street with his ex-wife, police said.
The couple, who told police they'd been drinking, was arguing in a silver car on Flagler Avenue at almost 2 a.m. on Saturday, police said. Their fight didn't get physical, but officers later found a clear bag in Faustino's pocket that carried about a gram of marijuana, police said.
The 5-foot-3, blue-eyed brunette known for his TV role as a son in a dysfunctional family was arrested early Saturday morning and taken to the Volusia County Branch Jail. He was released that same day, jail officials said.
The actor best known for his role as a dysfunctional son Bud Bundy on TV's "Married...With Children" has since made a few appearances on marijuana-promoting films.
Faustino has starred in films such as "Puff, Puff, Pass" in 2006 and "High Hopes" in 2005, according to the Internet Movie Database.

Happy Mother's Day! Mom in Restaurant Brawl Claims Child Was Threatened

What better way to celebrate Mother's Day than to get into a fight with other women over a crying child. Here's more from the Toledo Blade:

The 24-year-old woman at the center of a Mother's Day brawl at the Golden Corral Restaurant in Toledo said she was threatened with a knife by the family sitting next to her and did what any mother would have done to protect her 1-year-old daughter.
Little did Sylvia Harris know that her alleged defense of her child would lead to a restaurant-clearing melee in West Toledo in which she and four others would be arrested.
Ms. Harris of 1224 Indiana Ave. asked Toledo Municipal Court Judge Lynn Schaefer yesterday for more time to hire an attorney and did not enter a plea to misdemeanor assault, rioting, and inducing panic charges. The judge rescheduled her arraignment for 9 a.m. on May 29.
Ms. Harris is accused of hitting Christine Lewandowski, 56, of 1125 Slater St. after Ms. Lewandowski repeatedly complained about Ms. Harris' noisy 1-year-old, eventually screaming at the child to "shut up."
The confrontation in the crowded buffet-style family restaurant ignited a melee that involved as many as 15 people at the restaurant on 5730 Opportunity Drive, off West Alexis Road.

Teacher Arrested for Taking Boy's Picture in Bathroom at Mall - Carlos Dwight Arnold

Police in Macon have arrested a high school teacher and charged him with child molestation and being a peeping Tom.
Twenty-seven-year-old Carlos Dwight Arnold was arrested Saturday at a mall after being accused of photographing a boy in a bathroom.
Arnold is a ninth-grade teacher at Central High School.
Macon police spokeswoman Sergeant Melanie Hofmann says the nine-year-old boy told his mother that a man had taken his picture in the bathroom. They contacted mall security, who detained Arnold until police arrived.
Hofmann says the boy did not know Arnold.

Mother of the Year Candidate Takes 14-Year-Old Daughter to Bar, Back to Man's Motel Room

Then, as they say, things got weird. According to Eugenia Garrison of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, it was a mistake to take her 14-year-old daughter to a bar late Monday night. And it probably wasn't a good idea either for the two of them to go back to the motel room of an out-of-town businessman until 3 o'clock in the morning. But, that doesn't mean that cops shouldn't believe her when she and her daughter claim the guy wanted them both naked. Here's more from WTMJ 4 (link includes video clip:

Eugenia Garrison and her 14-year-old daughter were arrested for robbing a man and threatening to falsely accuse him of rape. But in an exclusive interview with TODAY'S TMJ4 reporter Michael George, she said she and her daughter are the real victims.
Garrison said she and her teenage daughter were at a local bar late on Monday night. They met a businessman from Texas, and he brought them back to his hotel room. At about 3:30 a.m., she claims things turned ugly.
"He said, 'Get naked.' He said that to both of us, and I said 'No,' and that’s how the whole thing started," said Garrison.
The man and police have a different story. The businessman told investigators the 14-year old grabbed $350 from him and ran for the door. When he tried to stop her, she allegedly claimed she would "cry rape." But Garrison said the man really did try to assault them.
Garrison said it was a mistake to bring her daughter to the bar, but she said the man at the bar is the real criminal.
Sheboygan police said Wednesday that they investigated the sexual assault and found no evidence of a crime. The businessman is not being investigated.

Teacher Reportedly Tells Girl to "Keep Playing Xylophone During Sex"

Some teachers will apparently go to great lengths to keep their affairs with underage girls secret. Take Michael Taylor, a former teacher at Soar Valley College in the UK. He's accused of having an ongoing sexual relationship with a 15-year-old music student and at one point, while the two were having sex in a practice room, instructed her to keep "playing the xylophone so anyone outside would think she was still practising." They allegedly met once a week for "music practice" - during which the girl, a talented percussionist, performed sex acts on him.

She was told to keep playing the xylophone during the incidents so anyone passing the classroom did not disturb the couple, the court heard.

Leicester Crown Court was told the teacher liked to be called "Mr Taylor" during sex, telling the girl: "You've got detention with me at the same time next week."

The incidents are alleged to have taken place

during the 1990s, when Taylor was working at Soar Valley College in Leicestershire.

He became principal of the City of Leicester College in nearby Evington last June but was suspended after the allegations came to light.

Nicola Moore, prosecuting, said 45-year-old Taylor began to court the teenager when she was 14.

She told the jury: "He would walk past her form room, making faces and generally flirting.

"They would have long chats over lunch, laughing and joking. It started with him befriending her.

"He would make inappropriate remarks, such as, 'Your hair looks nice' and 'Have you got a boyfriend?'."

When the girl turned 15 the pair had their first kiss in a science store cupboard at the school.

They had sex in the same place days later, the jury heard.

Miss Moore said: "Over the next eight or nine months this became a regular activity.

"They would have physical contact three or four times a week. It mostly took place in the cupboard but also in his car.

"They would drive to secluded spots, where they would carry on their sexual relations.'

The jury was also told the girl, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, was a "keen and talented" musician who was allowed to practise alone at lunchtime.

Miss Moore said the pupil would let Taylor into the music room after he used a "secret knock" and they would then perform sex acts on each other.

She added: "She would carry on playing the xylophone so anyone outside would think she was still practising.

"She recalls this happening once a week. During sex he liked to be called Mr Taylor.

"He would also say 'Bad girl' and 'You've got detention with me at the same time next week'.

Student Teacher Pleads Guilty to Sex With 14-Year-Old Boy - Jeri Deanne Perez

A Gilbert woman who was a student teacher at South Valley Junior High School in the Gilbert Unified School District pleaded guilty Wednesday to three felony counts of attempted sexual contact with a minor.
Jeri Deanne Perez, 38, who was arrested Jan. 30, was accused of engaging in sex with a 14-year-old who was not a student at the school. The boy was the son of one of her friends.
Perez will be sentenced June 15. She faces a prison term of 5 to 15 years.

Middle School Teacher Admits "I Can't Believe I Hooked Up With Two 9th Graders!" - Jeffrey Anderson, Tohickon Middle School

Frankly, neither can we Jeff, but that's what the police say happened. Jeffrey Anderson, 23, had been the building substitute at Tohickon Middle School in Plumstead Township outside Philly . . . until the parents of a 15-year-old girl used computer monitoring software to capture an exchange between the teacher and one girl that included the message (allegedly from Anderson) that read: "Hah . . . im so going to hell . . . Jeffrey Anderson, 23, of Northeast Philadelphia, was arrested Monday night and charged with crimes including involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault, and criminal use of communications devices.
Anderson had been the building substitute at Tohickon Middle School in Plumstead Township. Detectives pulled him out of his classroom Monday for questioning, and he provided a 14-page confession, court records say.
Anderson was fired immediately by the Central Bucks School District, where the La Salle University graduate had worked since 2005.
According to court records, Anderson admitted he kissed, fondled and digitally penetrated the girls, ages 15 and 14, inside the 15-year-old's house on a recent Saturday afternoon. He also engaged in oral sex with the younger girl during the April 28 meeting, the records say.
If convicted of the most serious crimes, Anderson faces a mandatory minimum five years in state prison. He is being held in Bucks County prison in lieu of $500,000 bail.
The girls' parents had been alerted by computer monitoring software that their daughters had been communicating with the teacher via instant messaging and Facebook.com personal Web sites, District Attorney Diane Gibbons said. They confronted the girls, who admitted engaging in sexual acts with Anderson, a probable-cause affidavit said.
Both girls had been in Anderson's class, and had been messaging him outside of school for about a month. In some exchanges, Anderson told the girls he wanted to have sex with them, the affidavit says, and recently met with them in a Tohickon classroom and kissed them.
In an April 22 Facebook posting, Anderson pleaded with the girls to keep things quiet, the affidavit says.
"PLEASE . . . nothing that is said or done between the three of us can EVER be repeated to anyone else!!!" the message said. "Not your best friend, your diary, or any of those girls at school!! I could get fired, never become a teacher again. or go to jail. . ."Five days later, after an explicit proposition to the girls on Facebook, Anderson allegedly added: "Hah . . . im so going to hell . . . I can't believe I hooked up with two 9th graders!!"

Teacher Accused of Sex With Female Student - Julie Miller Culbertson, East Henderson High School

Julie Miller Culbertson is a 38-year-old married mom and health occupation teacher at East Henderson High School who has now been arrested for having an inappropriate relationship with a female student. Here's more from the Citizen Times:

Sheriff’s deputies in separate cases have charged a Henderson County teacher and a Swain County school resource officer each with having sex with a student.
Julie Miller Culbertson, 38, had been a health occupation teacher at East Henderson High School since October 2004 before being charged Friday with felony sex offense with a student, according to the Henderson County Sheriff’s Department.
Culbertson resigned the same day, said David Jones, associate superintendent of Henderson County Public Schools.
“It’s in the hands now of the sheriff’s department as they try to sort out the facts,” Jones said.
Sheriff’s Office spokesman Joe Johnson said the student is female. He would not say whether the two were alleged to have had sex on school grounds. A tip led to the arrest, Johnson said.

Teacher Accused of Giving Booze to Teens, Holding Party at House - Amanda Tilley

Well, at least this lady didn't have sex with her students! But it does sound like she was considered the cool "party teacher" at Pueblo South High School. Here's more from the Rocky Mountain News:

Two Pueblo City Schools employees and a former school employee were facing criminal charges after they allegedly held parties for students and provided them with alcohol.
Joseph Borjon, 24, and Amanda Tilley, 35, turned themselves in this week after authorities issued arrest warrants for them.
Borjon, a security guard, and Tilley, a teacher, both were placed on administrative leave from Pueblo South High School.
"I felt that the situation was serious enough that the two that are charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor should be taken into custody," Bill Thiebaut, Pueblo County district attorney, told KOAA-TV.
The pair, along with Daniel Zufall, 24, also were facing 18 charges each of providing alcohol to minors. Zufall has resigned from his position as a teacher at Corwin Middle School.
Tilley and Borjon were accused of hosting parties at Tilley's home. Zufall's alleged role was not clear.

Teacher Accused Of Writing Love Letters To Student - Tonya Johnson, Clayton County School District

Is it wrong to write love letters to a 12-year-old boy? Probably not if you're a 12-year-old girl, but a 42-year-old female teacher? Here's more from WSB-TV in Atlanta (link includes video clip):

A Clayton County mother has been granted a temporary restraining order after she said her 12-year-old son received love letters from his 42-year-old teacher.
The alleged situation came to light when another teacher thought Tonya Johnson was a little too close to a 12-year-old boy, investigators said. Then the teacher discovered a love letter in the trash and turned it over to the principal.
“I want you to be with me. I know that we are both with someone else, but that’s going to change one day," the letter read.
It’s a typical love letter: A woman expresses her affection for the object of her desire. But in this case, the object of the writer's desire is a 12-year-old boy, according to the boy's mother, and the writer is his teacher and she's married.
Once the boy’s mother found out about the letter, she said she was shocked at what she read.
The letter also reads, “I have been suffering in this marriage a long time and you seem to be the only peace in my life.”
Police said they believe the letter was written by Johnson.
“She thinks she is in love with my child. A 42-year-old woman wrote him a love letter expressing her feelings toward him,” said the boy’s mother.
The boy’s mother said Johnson’s attempts to have a romantic relationship with her son has left both she and her son nervous wrecks. She said she's angry that after the Clayton County School District found out about the love letter, they didn’t fire Johnson.
“My husband and I were told she was fired, her certificate was going to be pulled and she would never work in Clayton County again,” said the boy’s mother.
A school district spokesperson told Channel 2’s Tom Jones, administrators planned to fire Johnson but gave her the option to resign, which she did.

Extreme Hangover? Ty Pennington Arrested for DUI, Host of ABC's Extreme Makeover

TV handyman and do it yourself spokesman Ty Pennington was arrested for DUI over the weekend. No video from the arrest . . . yet, but we expect it to crop up soon. Here's more from the Indy Star:

Ty Pennington, host of ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," apologized to his fans and co-workers Monday after he was arrested for investigation of drunken driving.
"I made an error in judgment," Pennington said in a statement released through his publicist, Stan Rosenfield.
"We all make mistakes, however this is about accountability. Under no circumstances should anyone consume alcohol while driving. I could have jeopardized the lives of others and I am grateful there was no accident or harm done to anyone," the reality TV host said.
Pennington was arrested on a misdemeanor charge shortly after 12:30 a.m. Saturday by the Los Angeles Police Department's West Traffic Division, according to inmate information posted on the county Sheriff's Department Web site.
Pennington was released two hours later after posting $5,000 bail and was due back in court June 4, according to the Web site.

CEO of HBO Arrested in Las Vegas for Assaulting Girlfriend - Chris Albrecht

Amateur boxing allegedly followed professional boxing at HBO this weekend. Here's more from KLTV:

Chris Albrecht was arrested Sunday, a few hours after a boxing match aired by his company.
Officers assigned to the fight reported seeing Albrecht fighting with a woman in the M-G-M Grand's valet parking lot. Police tell the Los Angeles Times that the fight got physical.
Albrecht was booked on suspicion of a misdemeanor battery-domestic assault and later released.

Topless Photos of Britney Spears Leaked to the Press? Or a Naked Hoax?

Just as it seemed like she was making a comeback and getting some sense of a life back, Britney Spears life is turned upside down again by an alleged scandal. Here's more from Hollywoodd.com:

"She's concentrating on her career and this draws the focus from her music."

Diana Nicole Bennett Update: Hot Teacher Avoids Jail for Sex With Teen

It's good to be young, female and good looking in court, isn't it? Here's more on the story about Australian teacher Diana Nicole Bennett from The Age:

DRESSED only in her underwear and a cardigan, Diana Nicole Bennett climbed out of the home she shared with her parents and went to the house of a boy who had pursued her for several weeks.

Bennett, then 28, regarded herself as an older sister to the 15-year-old, whose parents had left for work on that day in January 2005.

The County Court heard she was "flattered that someone of his age found her sexually attractive" and the pair began to fondle each other and undressed.

However, their sexual liaison ended when a friend of the boy barged through the door.

The friend later approached police. Bennett — who works at an opportunity shop and an aged-care centre — assisted the police, saying the incident was "weighing too heavily upon me".

Judge Lance Pilgrim said yesterday the "foolish lapse" was a serious offence.

But it was not enough to warrant time in jail.

In wholly suspending Bennett's 12-month sentence, Judge Pilgrim said he was satisfied that Bennett had been frank with police.

He said he was satisfied she had taken significant steps to rehabilitate herself, including seeking help for her alcoholism.

After Bennett pleaded guilty to sexual penetration of a child under the age of 16 — a charge that carries a maximum jail term of 10 years — her lawyer, Richard Backwell, said she was depressed, lonely and vulnerable.

She had sought attention, adoration and admiration, but that decision, he said, had "quite clearly changed her life".

Her twin sister had now distanced herself from her because of the publicity surrounding the incident.

The court heard that Bennett, now 30, drank three bottles of vodka straight each week, and her alcohol problem played a role in her offending, with her still being intoxicated from the previous evening.

The pair had been friends for about six months.

The boy had earlier promised to give her a kiss for Christmas.

While the boy's parents still spoke to Bennett, who had visited them on several occasions, he was now rude and unpleasant towards her, although he did not write a victim impact statement.

Bennett, who refused to comment when she left court, had no prior convictions.

She will now be registered as a sex offender

Teacher Accused of Selling Student's Coat on eBay - Elizabeth Logan, Jackson Elementary

Well, now this is a new one. We've had teachers having sex with students, beating students, even locking them in closets. But selling their clothes on the Internet? That is wrong for so many reasons. Here's more from the West Central Tribune:

A Hillsboro mother found her daughter's missing winter coat on eBay, and now a teacher at the girl's elementary school faces charges of theft and computer crimes.
Elizabeth Logan, 41,is on paid administrative leave from Jackson Elementary. She denies stealing the coat, saying she got it from a lost-and-found, Cmdr. Chris Skinner said.
The mother searched the school's lost and found for the coat, then decided to turn to eBay for a replacement. After finding a seemingly identical coat, she noticed that the seller was from Hillsboro.
The mother alerted another bidder that the coat might be stolen, and the other bidder relayed the information to the seller, Logan. Skinner said Logan asked the other bidder to outbid the girl's mother.

Family Wakes to Find Naked Man on Their Couch, "Deposits" on Their Floor

New Martinsville Police were forced to arrest a naked man who broke into and passed out inside a home on Commercial Street early Saturday.
Police said Tony Cook, 32, of 28 Rose St., entered the home at 139 Commercial St. — three miles away from his residence — sometime after midnight on Friday in an extremely intoxicated state. According to Chief of Police Tim Cecil, members of the family at the home awoke to a foul odor and came downstairs to find Cook — who was completely nude — sleeping on their couch.
According to police, before Cook was found passed out, he defecated and urinated on the floor. He also took food from the family’s refrigerator.
“I don’t believe he knew the family,” Cecil said. “Officers don’t know if the man thought he was in his own home. He does not live near where he was found.”
After officers arrived at the home, they woke Cook.
“When he woke up, he wanted to fight,” Cecil continued. “Patrolman Don Larsen and Sgt. Dave Byers got him up to get him out of there.”

Teacher Quits After Locking Student in Closet

Okay, you know teachers don't have the easiest jobs anymore, but locking a kid up for 20 minutes? Probably not a good idea. Here's more from Sharon Herald:

Rocco Criazzo resigned at a special meeting of the board of education Saturday.
Reached by phone Monday, Criazzo declined to comment specifically about the incident but said he plans to continue teaching elsewhere.
Superintendent Michael Notar said the district cannot release any comment or details of the April 25 incident until more information is obtained.
School officials told Brookfield police last week that Criazzo reportedly locked a student in a large equipment closet as a punishment for about 20 minutes after the student misbehaved.
Police Chief Dan Faustino said Friday the district would handle all disciplinary action through the board.
Criazzo said he has taken the remainder of his personal days until he is officially terminated at the end of the school year.
