Wow! We cover a lot of these teacher sex scandals, but rarely do we have one where the husband of the alleged perpetrator turns her into cops. That's apparently what happened to 43-year-old Donna Goebel, a teacher's aide at a "special needs" school in Westampton, New Jersey. According to police, Goebel's husband found some pictures of the boy at the home he shared with his wife and THEIR two teenaged children, suspected something was fishy and made a report back on January 24. After about a two week investigation, Donna was arrested at their home on Thursday. Wonder if he told her he had gone the cops, or if he just kept quiet and waited for them to show up and arrest her? Either way, must have been an interesting two weeks at the Goebel house.

Goebel, charged with sexual assault, was being held in lieu of $75,000 bail at the county's minimum-security women's facility in Pemberton Township. Under terms of her bail, she cannot have contact with the student, said the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office.
The victim was identified only as a minor who attends the school where Goebel is employed. "None of the assaults occurred on school property," Prosecutor Robert Bernardi said in a statement.
Authorities said a man went to investigators Jan. 24 with suspicions about Goebel's behavior. That prompted an investigation by the prosecutor's office and the Burlington City police department.
Bernardi gave no other details about the case, including the victim's gender, "to maintain the anonymity of the victim and due to the nature of the charges."
Goebel is to have an initial court appearance this afternoon in Superior Court in Mount Holly.
If convicted, she faces between five and 10 years in state prison.

Hmmm, im not sure if goebel would do something like that but im guessing that she might havee, goebel what were you thinking!!!
You must have a reason for thinking that she wouldn't do something like that.
The fact that all of the information came from the husband, and the school did not have a response is telling.
It may turn out that there was a lot of stuff taken way out of context when it all comes out.
You can't turn your wife in one week, turn yourself in the next week, and hit every microphone and camera in between unless there is an agenda.
I have no idea whether Donna Goebel is guilty or not but I do know that the husband's behavior is off the charts.
Does he think that this is the way to keep a marriage together? Is he really horrified by his wife "raping" a special needs kid, yet he only talks about himself? How this has affected him and his family? He's already been out of the house for his own behavior.
Many of the students at that school are only there because the do not work out well in a regular high school environment. They are not physically or mentally handicapped. They are better suited to a trades education. Or they have trouble fitting into the normal routine of a public high school.
The dirty facts will come out on Donna Goebel during her trial. Regardless of what the husband said, her and her victim were watched for weeks before he went to the press and her arrest. My guess is the best witness the prosecutor has is her lover, I mean victim. Yes, the husband lost his mind, wouldn't yours?
