Teacher's Aide Maria R. Commins, 39, Caught in Hotel Room With Boy, 15 - Greenport Elementary School

EARLIER POST: Wow! Another educator caught by a private detective after her husband suspected something was up and had her followed. And follow her he did!
According to police, Maria R. Commins, 39, a teacher's aide at Greenport Elementary School in New York allegedly picked up a 15-year-old student after school, bought him some booze and took him to a Holiday Inn Express. (Cops: "Are you an adult young man? Teen: "No, but I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express with my teacher last night!")
Once there, the private detective called the cops who busted in on the lovers. And, according to police, Commins told them the pair were "in love." Which also explains why they reportedly also had had sexual contact at least once previously in Commins' Ford Taurus. To make matters worse, the teen is also a friend of Commin's own son.
Maria Commins is now charged with third-degree rape, endangering the welfare of a child and unlawfully dealing with a child. Neighbors, naturally, were shocked--SHOCKED I TELL YOU!--to hear of her arrest as she was a mother devoted to her children's schooling . . . and, allegedly, in the uh, "education" of other young people. No word on how much the private eye charged or if and when the husband will settle up with him on the bill. Think he should get a bonus?

  1. Ive know both of the people for at least 3 years... They are good people. Maria was always a loving mother help alot around the school. She had that bilingual thing that aloud her to help student spanish and english. Sure I think its disgusting that she and him had sex [[24 yr. difference]] but I mean they are good people and until I heard something I honestly never suspected again. And instead of trashing her why dont you be a little compationate about this. I mean she's lost everything: her job, her husband, her kids, and shes gonna be listed as a child predator.... Yeah I guess you can say shes gonna be a little depressed

  2. I know Maria too. And i consider her my friend. WE shoudl be thinkiong of her kids they will lose their mother--- that backs them one hundred percent. Her hubby definatly wont do that or hasnt in the past.

    And the two friends of hers trying to get sympathy for her, shame on you. Her job was to teach and protect children. Those two people stating that people should not hate her or think poorly of her really do not know what they are talking about. Why not excuse all the guilty priests that molested boys using the same thinking. Any crooked cop or crooked politician? Give them a break because they are good people... She will get what she deserves because she destroyed the trust of the people that gave her their faith. She SHOULD lose her kids, her family, her job & her freedom. She will probably end up marrying the kid when she gets out of prison like Mary Kay Letourneau did. I do feel bad for the kid though, he got one of the ugliest female pedophiles. Some of the women arrested for the same thing were beautiful. This chick is just butt ugly...

  4. Me again... Quick question... The two "friends" of Mrs. Cummins... Are you Americans or Border crossers??? If you are from Central or South America then bravo on your English. It was pretty good. If you are American born then your English sucks. You need to spend more time in school rather than tell people how to view your friend Mrs. and I repeat MRS. Cummins

  5. She deserves NO sympathy. A good woman.. wow... she molested a child.. a friend of her son. Having sex with a child who is too young to be even thinking about having sex. She made the choice to do what she did, with a child!..... she deserves to have nothing. This poor kid is going to grow up with some serious problems, not to mention a horrible taste is woman... yikes!

  6. Writing as a resident of Greenport, NY, I UNFORTUNATELY did not find this surprising. It's an odd village with a lot of idiots and a lot of ignorance. Many people out here on the end of the island don't ever get further west than Riverhead - a full half hour drive! There is a horrible drug problem as well as a huge issue with alcoholism. The incompetent Southold Town Police are extremely good at turning a blind eye to open air crack deals. Even the Guardian Angels gave up!
