Drunk Man Tasered by Cops for . . . Stabbing a Tree?

And you wonder why cops go a little nuts sometimes when they arrest a bad guy? How about it if you were called to take care of a neighborhood disturbance, only to find a crazy man--who had already thrown a large rock at a garage door--standing there with a booze bottle in one hand and a 10 inch knife in the other . . . and he was using it to stab a tree? Seems to me that tasering is an appropriate response to that kind of stupidity. Here's more from Redding.com:

Redding police officers used a stun gun today to subdue a 46-year-old Sacramento man after he allegedly brandished a large knife at passing motorists, threw a large rock at a nearby home’s garage door and ended up stabbing a tree. Steven Hill was arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest and possession of a concealed deadly weapon and booked into Shasta County jail, a police spokesman said.
Officers said when they arrived in the area of Keswick Dam Road and Lake Boulevard they found Hill stabbing a tree with a knife in one hand and holding a bottle of liquor in the other. Hill refused to drop the knife and officers used the stun gun to apprehend him, the police spokesman said.
