University of Nebraska-Lincoln Student Brandishes Toy Gun in Class, Tells Students to "Get Down" So Some Jump Out Windows
After all of the high school and college shootings over the years here in the USA, you would thinkt that someone would have to be pretty stupid to bring a toy gun to class and wave it around yelling, "get down." Or, you could be Ryan Labenz, 24, a senior art major at University of Nebraska-Lincoln, who allegedly pulled that stunt this week which caused several of his frightened classmates to jump out the window. Okay, the class was on the first floor, but still! Here's more from Omaha.com:
A 24-year-old University of Nebraska-Lincoln student was arrested Monday after allegedly brandishing a toy gun on campus.
Ryan Labenz, a senior art major, pulled out what appeared to be a silver gun outside an art class in Richards Hall and shouted "get down," said Owen Yardley, UNL police chief. Several students in a nearby classroom felt threatened and decided to escape by jumping out a first-floor window, police said. No one was hurt.
UNL police arrested Labenz 13 minutes later at his residence on the 900 block of Y Street. Police recovered the gun, which turned out to be a toy. UNL Police Capt. Carl Oestmann said Monday afternoon that authorities were still interviewing Labenz and other students. Oestman wouldn't say whether Labenz was playing a joke or intended to scare others.

ahahaha I KNOW THIS KID!
So do I
I was IN this class...i didn't get freaked out enough to go out the window though...it was more like, wait WHAT's going on?? better safe than sorry though i guess!
I was in that class, too, and EVERYBODY fled the studio. None of us knew what was going on except someone was sceaming, "Get down on the ground NOW!" The only reason people stopped jumping out the window was because another student who knew LaBenz came to us and told us it was just some moron.
