Teacher Mandi Weeks Arrested for Allegedly Having Sex With Mentally Disabled Boy 15

It's been quietly lately, with school being out for the summer, but that just gives administrators more time now to investigate all the rumors about teachers having sex with students. The latest one is Mandi Weeks, 27, of Hannacroix, N.Y., who taught developmentally disabled kids at Devereux New York. At right, a picture of Mandi Weeks from her MySpace page.
Here's more on the story from Metro:

Mandi Weeks, 27, of Hannacroix, N.Y., faces multiple charges including two counts of third degree rape of a mentally disabled 15-year-old. The boy is a student at the same school where Weeks taught, Devereux New York, a residential school for children with special needs in the upstate town of Red Hook.
The boy was home on break from the school when the sexual assaults occurred twice in the boy’s Queens home and once in a parking lot, authorities said.
“The victim is believed to have a 50 IQ, making him particularly vulnerable to a teacher who is supposed to have his best interest in mind,” Brown said. The average IQ is 85.
Weeks was “terminated” from her job Tuesday, said John O’Keefe, executive director of Devereux New York.
In Weeks’ MySpace profile, she claims to take the drug Klonopin three times a day. According to Roche, the makers of the drug, Klonopin is a drug usually used to treat seizures and panic disorders. Some side effects include confusion, depression and increased libido.

Woman Robs Store With Her Two Kids in Tow, 7 & 2 - West Virginia

UPDATE: Now see the video of the criminal genius robbing the video game parlor. Her kids aren't on camera but you can tell that this woman, allegedly Melissa Spencer, wasn't shy with the gun!

Was it "Take Your Kid to Commit a Crime" Day? How come no one told me! Well, as it turns out, that may only be a holiday in West Virginia, where a woman was arrested for robbing a St. Albans video game parlor with a pellet gun. Nothing too unusual about that, except that she had two accomplices: her children, a boy aged 7 and a little girl, 2. Mom wasn't too bright though: she lived only 6 houses away from the crime scene and was easily apprehended a short time later and all of the money has been recovered. The children were sent to live with relatives who are less likely to take them along on crime sprees.
No mug shot was available, but you can guess she probably doesn't look anything like June Cleaver. On the plus side, she'll be able to pick up her "Mother of the Year" nomination form once she posts bail. (State Journal)
