Female Teacher, 45, Accused of Having Sex With Boy, 17 - Wendie Estrada Fernandez, Corona Ranch Elementary

Married for 24 years.
Mother of 4.
A 45-year-old elementary school teacher.
And now, also accused of having sex with a 17-year-old high school boy. We don't have a picture yet, but Wendie Estrada Fernandez was, until recently a teacher in the Corona-Norco Unified School District. That is, until police arrested her on suspicion of having sex with a minor, specifically that Fernandez had unlawful sexual intercourse and oral sex with a 17-year-old high school boy. Here's more from the Press Enterprise:

Fernandez, a fifth-grade teacher at Corona Ranch Elementary School and mother of four children, was released after posting $25,000 bail, police said. She knew the boy through someone in her family, said Jerry Pawluczenko, a sergeant with the Corona Police Department. A biography obtained from clicking on her TeacherWeb page said Fernandez and her husband of 24 years have three boys and a girl.

Fernandez was placed on "indefinite administrative leave" Tuesday and replaced with a "highly qualified" substitute teacher, said Tom Pike, the district's assistant superintendent for executive services. Fernandez's year-round class started the second week in July.

Popular Teacher Arrested for Sex With Underage Girl Same Day He Appeared on Local TV Station - Jose Bernardo Fanjul, West High

The fortunes of teacher Jose Bernardo Fanjul, 45, at West High School in Utah rose and fell quickly this week. On Tuesday morning he was interviewed by KSL-TV in Salt Lake City on his lesson plan to commemorate the 7th anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy. Later that day though, police showed up at the school to arrest him for allegedly having sex with a female student from March to July of this year, sometimes actually at the school! To add insult to injury, Fanjul is also an award-winning teacher and was named as the American Star of Teaching from Utah. Which makes all of this even more bizarre. Here's more on the story from KSL:

Police arrested Jose Bernardo Fanjul, 45, at West High after school Tuesday. None of the students even knew he had been arrested. The news came as a shock because Fanjul is one of the most well-liked teachers there.

Student Joel Organasta said, "He's very popular. All the people I know, know him." But police say Fanjul crossed the line with one student. Jail documents say he engaged in sexual activity with a 17-year-old girl between March and July of this year. She told police they had numerous sexual encounters after hours at West High and at other places. Police say they're working with her and her father.

Fanjul has also appeared on Eyewitness News, once in 2006 to warn Utah Latinos about a scam targeting their community; then again just Monday, on Eyewitness News at 6:30. Fanjul highlighted his lesson plan on the September 11th terrorist attacks. Fanjul said, "I teach it in the context that this is something that's happening in the world nowadays, and this is how we deal with it."

Organasta says Fanjul showed part of the Talking Point segment in their class Tuesday morning. He had no idea that by the end of the school day, his teacher would make the news again, for this. "Everybody knows him, and he doesn't look like someone that would do that," Organasta said. Fanjul was arrested on multiple counts of forcible sexual abuse and forcible sodomy. The school district says he is on paid administrative leave.

Man Caught Looking at Porn, Masturbating at Public Library

At the Madison County Library in Rexburg, Idaho they have a simple rule about public use of their Internet computers: If you look up pornographic material, you're banned from computers for a year. If you're caught doing it again, you are banned permanently. Unfortunately, the MCL policy doesn't say anything about looking at porn AND masturbating. My guess is that will also earn you the lifetime ban, but those in charge will likely need to ammend the policy after this latest incident. Here's more from KIDK:

It was a quiet Tuesday afternoon at the Madison Library when workers noticed something wasn't right. "Two of the staff saw what was going on and immediately called the police," said library director Judy Dewey.
Sitting in the corner, at a computer, was 33-year-old Daniel Young looking at pornographic websites and masturbating. The library has a strict policy against pornography. Every computer has filters and when patrons log on, they agree to stay away from sexually explicit material.
"The other part of the policy is to not disable any software or change any settings on the computer," said Dewey. That's most likely how Young accessed the porn - by disabling the filters. It's something other people have done too. "We do encounter them like every other community. This isn't the first one at the library," said Rexburg Police Capt. Randy Lewis. Young was removed from the library, cited, and released. He won't be returning any time soon because he's been banned from ever coming back.

Teacher Lisa Temsey Admits to Sending Topless Pic to Boy, 14, Gets Probation - East Canton Middle School

Former middle school teacher Lisa Temsey admitted in court yesterday that yes, indeed, she did send a topless photo of herself to a 14-year-old boy who used to be a student of hers, but then moved out of town. Her punishment? 5 years PROBATION! Now tell me: if she had been a he and sent a 14-year-old GIRL a picture of his penis, do you think we'd be talking probation or would we be talking pitchforks, tar and feathering? Exactly my point. Look, I realize that they can't lock the door and throw away the key on every teacher who does something like this (although it might improve the SAT scores in the slammer) but how bad does this double standard have to get before someone does something about it. We don't have a mug shot of Lisa Temsey, although we understand from sources that she is an attractive young blond. If you find a picture of here, drop us a line at Tips2 at DumbassDaily.com. (Thanks to long time reader Artie Bigley for the link!)
Here's, more on the story from the Canton Repository:

A former East Canton Middle School teacher narrowly dodged a prison term Monday for sending a topless picture of herself to a 14-year-old boy. "You are a hair's breadth away from going to the institution," Judge Richard Reinbold told one-time educator Lisa Temsey during her sentencing hearing.

Temsey pleaded guilty last month to one felony charge of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles, a fifth-degree felony. Temsey was teaching gifted students at East Canton Middle School last May when she was corresponding with a student via her MySpace page, said Katie Chawla, assistant Stark County prosecutor.

The boy, 14, was a former student who had moved out of state. The discussion "changed from professional to a personal one, and she sent him a naked picture of her breasts," Chawla said. The exchange came to light when she started talking to two of the boy's friends, Chawla said. Investigators found a copy of the naked picture on the boy's computer, Chawla said.

Cops Find Weed, Sex Toys, Women's Clothes in Car of School Superintendent - Christopher Gregory, Washtucna School District

You know, if you're going to get pulled over in your car by the cops and the least of your problems is a pipe and a bag of weed in the back seat . . . you've got some bigger problems. And that bigger problem would be a bag that contained a mixture of sex toys, condoms, creams, leather whips, female clothing, . . . and a shock collar? That seems to be the case for Christopher Gregory, who used to be the Superintendent for the Washtucna School District. We say "used to be" because, since this report came out, Gregory has resigned his post. Here's more on this bizarre story from KXLT:

Gregory, 60, was arrested on August 23rd after a traffic stop on Lovell Valley Road near Plummer, Idaho. Deputies reported that Gregory's SUV was swerving into the westbound lane while heading eastbound on Lovell Valley Road.
During the stop the deputy noticed Gregory was nervous and being very methodical in his answers to the deputy's questions, particularly in pausing for several moments after being asked if he had any drugs in his vehicle.
Gregory then admitted that he was the superintendent for the Washtucna School District and had some marijuana and a pipe that he had confiscated from a student's locker in his SUV. He then showed deputies a large leather bag in the back of his SUV that contained a Ziploc bag filled with marijuana and a pipe that had marijuana inside of it.
Deputies handcuffed Gregory then and placed him in the back of a patrol car before continuing a more detailed search of his SUV, where they found "leather whips, female clothing, assorted sex toys, condoms, creams and a shock collar" inside the bag they found the marijuana in. En route to the Benewah County Jail Gregory told deputies that in addition to being a school superintendent he was also a former Marine.

Drunk Teacher Arrested After Grenade Launcher Found in Basement - Benjamin Terril, Buchtel High School

The worse thing my high school science teacher ever did was give me a C on a project that really was probably deserved an F. Actually, that was probably a good thing, now that I think about it, but either way it's much better than what we learned about Benjamin Terril, a science teacher at Buchtel High School. Cops found a lot of interesting things when they raided his home, including drugs, guns and--for some reason--a grenade launcher. Likely he was saving up for the Nerf grenades that go with it. Here's more from NewsNet5:

Benjamin Terril, a science teacher at Buchtel High School, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, weapons under disability, possession of dangerous ordnance, drug paraphernalia and drug abuse marijuana. Police went to Terril's home on Iona Avenue at about 7:30 p.m. after getting a call about a suspicious person with a gun.
When officers arrived on scene, they found the 50-year-old with a 9 mm semi-automatic loaded handgun in his pants pocket.
Police said he was heavily intoxicated. During a consent search of his house, officers found at least 26 guns, including machine guns and a grenade launcher. The police report said there was an AR-15 with magazines that hold more than 31 bullets, a Ruger .22 handgun with silencer, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, unknown powders and a lockpick kit. The guns were found in the basement along with a stash of food. Lt. Rick Edwards termed Terril a "survivalist."
