Female Teacher, 38, Accused of Having Sex With Boy on Classroom Floor & in Pickup Truck - Anna M. Bettencourt
The year is still young and yet the female teacher sex scandals seem to just keep stacking up, don't they?
The latest one is from Bliss High School in Gooding, Idaho (who had Idaho in the pool?) where according to court records, a 16-year-old boy claims he engaged is sexual intercourse twice with teacher Anna M. Bettencourt (mug shot picture at right) once on the floor of the school's agriculture shop on a Sunday (a Sunday?), and a second time in the boy's pickup truck after they met up at the school.
The teen claims the inappropriate relationship started six or seven months ago when Bettencourt started sending him sexually charged text messages. In court records he also claims that she told him " . . . she was going through bad times in her life and she enjoyed the attention and made the mistake of engaging in very inappropriate text-messaging with him."
Bettencourt, 39, was charged with two counts of felony sexual battery of a minor and could face up to life in prison if convicted. (Times News)

In what strange country do they actually raise young men who would kiss-and-tell? This is a different species of guys compared to the days we grew up in.
Either they are so pretty you want to keep them to yourself or they're so homely you would never want anyone you knew to find out. I tho't I read where guilt went out with the Eisenhower administration.

Grow up America, you want to be a leader nation but yet you cannot tell that your kids are basically adults at 15\16. Don't try and rule others while you cannot even rule the home.

Yeah, if I'd been a teenager getting it on with a teacher, NO WAY would I have told anyone. That'd be the sure way to put the brakes on the gravy train!
That said, though, as an adult, I can see why this is considered a problem. NOT from whether the kids are "adult" enough to have sex, but I see it as dangerous because of the TEACHERS. They are in a position of authority, so there's the whole "authority figure/role model/abuse of power" thing going on.
If one 16-year-old wants to have sex with another teen, sure, whatever, but for a 40-year-old who is in a supervisory position of authority over the student, then it just isn't appropriate.
And, yeah, I suppose in some cases the students probably DO approach the teachers (rather than vice versa), but a grown adult should have enough self-control to resist the urge to fool around with a student, especially when said student is a). enrolled at the same school (or worse, in your classes) b). underage.
