Man Arrested for Disturbance at Church Because No One Came to His High School Graduation

You work hard for what, six or seven years, and then no one shows up when you finally graduate from high school? I'd be upset, too, but probably not so upset that I'd mess with the cops and get my ass tasered in a church.

A Framingham man who became angry when his family did not attend his high school graduation on Sunday was arrested after he became combative, police said. Keith Herring, 19, was arrested at 5:50 p.m. at Power - The Holy Ghost church at 12 Irving St., police said. Herring graduated Sunday from Framingham High School's Thayer Campus.

Police went to 12 Irving St. after a call about an out-of-control teen, police spokesman Lt. Paul Shastany said. When they arrived, they found Herring yelling and being restrained by several people. "He was very upset," said Shastany. "He was advised to stop yelling and he kept trying to get by the officers, trying to push past them."

The officers told Herring, who Shastany described as a large man, 6 feet 2 inches tall and 200 pounds, that he was going to be arrested for being disorderly. Herring started throwing his arms around and resisting the officers attempts to handcuff him.
"He was advised if he didn't stop, he would be tased," said Shastany. "He continued struggling, and he was Tasered. Immediately after, he was handcuffed."

Herring was not injured, but he was taken to Framingham's MetroWest Medical Center as a precaution. Later, Herring told police he was upset because no one attended his graduation.

And to think some people want to give parents a choice and a school voucher?
