Scottsdale police on Wednesday detained a man whom they allege registered a preliminary blood alcohol level of .40, which is five times the legal limit for driving. Doran Sears, 37, was stopped by officers near North 100th Street and North Thompson Peak Parkway in Scottsdale shortly after 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Police allege that a preliminary breath test yielded .40, but official results of a blood draw that was conducted were pending, said Scottsdale Police Department spokesman Officer Dave Pubins.
