Mom Arrested After Toddlers Found Home Alone, Eating Dog Food

According to young mom Samantha Abernathy, 19, she left her 2 and 3-year-old sons home alone about 2 am Sunday for just a short while to go see her ex-boyfriend. Her excuse? She fully expected the boy's father to show up at 9 am. He didn't and apparently the hungry toddlers went in search of food . . . near the dumpster in the parking lot of the apartment complex where the family lived.

Police said a neighbor spotted the kids at the complex near University Drive and Gilbert Road. Their mother was nowhere to be found. Investigators said when the finally figured out which apartment the 2-year-old and 3-year-old lived in, the found the door wide open and feces all over the floor.

"I'm told there was a lock on the refrigerator and there was more beer than food in that fridge," said Sgt. Ed Wessing, spokesperson for the Mesa Police Department.
Police said they saw the younger child go directly to the pantry and start eating dog food.

“We don’t know if this child routinely eats dog food, but I can tell you when our officers felt bad enough they went and purchased food themselves out of their own money and brought it to these kids, they ate it like they were extremely hungry," said Sgt. Wessing. "It's unbelievable, those poor little things. I just can't imagine," said Joann Duplessis, a neighbor.

Samantha Abernathy, 20, the children’s mother, was booked for child endangerment. Investigators said Abernathy, who worked at Centerfold Cabaret, claimed to have left around 2 a.m. on Sunday to help a friend. Court records show she returned at 10:45 a.m. on Sunday -- nearly 9 hours later -- and did not find anyone to watch her kids.

"How could you possibly leave a 2 and 3-year old alone for five minutes, let alone more than eight hours, and that’s what she's admitting to. It could be longer,” said Sgt. Wessing. “How many times has this happened?"

New York Cop Arrested for Pointing Gun at Woman During Road Rage Incident

You know the traffic must really suck if even the off-duty cops are pulling guns on other drivers out of frustration. On the other hand, it's hard to take seriously a witness who's given name is Chastity Cancel.

An NYPD cop was arrested Monday after he pulled a gun on a Bronx mother and her 2-year-old daughter during a road-rage incident while he was off duty, police said Tuesday. Six-year veteran Michael Gallow, 28, was suspended from the 28th Precinct stationhouse in Harlem on Monday after he was charged with menacing and possession of a weapon, cops said.

Chastity Cancel told Fox 5 that Gallow, driving a Toyota Camry, honked at her and flashed his lights as she tried to merge with traffic on Randall Ave. in Schuylerville, the Bronx. She said she let him know how she felt. "I stuck out my middle finger," she said. Gallow then pulled up to her car and pointed a gun at her head. "He said, "Do not curse me,'" she said. Cancel said she hid under her dashboard and Gallow sped away. "He said he would kill everyone in the car," she said.

We Have a Winner! Man Arrested for 153rd Time!

Forget it if you think you're hot sh*t for being arrested 20 or 30 times. Paul Baldwin of Portsmouth, New Hampshire has just been arrested for the 153rd time, this time for punching someone in the face, just days after spending a year in jail for stealing $1.99 can of beer. Baldwin wants to plead guilty, but the prosecutor hasn't been able to determine a charge yet because he hasn't had time to review the man's lengthy record.
Arraigned June 1 by video from the Rockingham County House of Corrections, Baldwin, 49, with no fixed address, was charged with a class A misdemeanor count of simple assault alleging he hit someone in the face in Market Square. He told the court he didn’t want a lawyer and was prepared to plead guilty, but prosecutor Rena DiLando said her office has not had time to contact the alleged victim for input.

DiLando petitioned the court for $5,000 cash bail, noting that Baldwin’s criminal history is so lengthy she didn’t have time to read it all. She said he was also cited twice for violation-level offenses during his first week out of jail, once for a trespassing on the railroad tracks and another time for having an open container of beer.

Latest Female Teacher Sex Scandal: Woman, 27, Accused of Having Sex Seven Times With Boy, 14, in Classroom After School

Someone's not telling the truth here: the "victim" in this case, a 14-year-old boy at Middle School 8 in Jamaica (Long Island, NY) claims he and a female teacher had sex multiple times in her classroom after school. The accused, teacher Melissa Weber, 27, told cops that nothing really happened and that "I've hugged him and he put his hands on my buttocks. I reprimanded him for that." The problem for Ms. Weber might come in when officers look at what the evidence that the boy's mother found on his cell phone: hundreds of calls and text messages between the two.

Weber, pleaded not guilty to seven counts of second-degree rape, 14 counts of third-degree sexual abuse and one count of endangering the welfare of a child. If convicted, she could get up to 7 years in prison. Not sure the point that Weber's lawyer was trying to make, but at one point attorney Donald Vogelman told the media, "If you take a look at my client, what she looks like, if she goes into jail, it'll be very difficult for her."

Man Arrested for Disturbance at Church Because No One Came to His High School Graduation

You work hard for what, six or seven years, and then no one shows up when you finally graduate from high school? I'd be upset, too, but probably not so upset that I'd mess with the cops and get my ass tasered in a church.

A Framingham man who became angry when his family did not attend his high school graduation on Sunday was arrested after he became combative, police said. Keith Herring, 19, was arrested at 5:50 p.m. at Power - The Holy Ghost church at 12 Irving St., police said. Herring graduated Sunday from Framingham High School's Thayer Campus.

Police went to 12 Irving St. after a call about an out-of-control teen, police spokesman Lt. Paul Shastany said. When they arrived, they found Herring yelling and being restrained by several people. "He was very upset," said Shastany. "He was advised to stop yelling and he kept trying to get by the officers, trying to push past them."

The officers told Herring, who Shastany described as a large man, 6 feet 2 inches tall and 200 pounds, that he was going to be arrested for being disorderly. Herring started throwing his arms around and resisting the officers attempts to handcuff him.
"He was advised if he didn't stop, he would be tased," said Shastany. "He continued struggling, and he was Tasered. Immediately after, he was handcuffed."

Herring was not injured, but he was taken to Framingham's MetroWest Medical Center as a precaution. Later, Herring told police he was upset because no one attended his graduation.

Video: EMT Could Face Charges for Scuffle With State Trooper

This one poses an important question: if an ambulance and a police car both have their sirens on but are going to different locations, who has to pull over? A cell phone video from the man who's mother was being taken to the hospital in the ambulance shows the confrontation between cops and EMTs. (Watch video of the incident below.)

A paramedic could face charges after a scuffle with a state trooper that was caught on cell phone camera. It happened Sunday near Paden in Okfuskee County. That's about 70 miles southwest of Tulsa. Kenyada Davis' mother was being transported in the ambulance and recorded the incident on his cell phone camera. paramedic could face charges after a scuffle with a state trooper that was caught on cell phone camera.

Drunk Man Arrested With Shirt Wrapped Around Boat Propeller

From the way this story reads, this guy is lucky he's only in jail and not dead or severely maimed. When sheriff's deputies approached his boat, they found him underwater with his T-shirt caught in the boat's propeller!

A 44-year-old Connecticut man was arrested for drunken boating on the Grand River (Michigan) after sheriff's deputies said he got his T-shirt caught in the boat's propeller, police said. Ottawa County sheriff's deputies responded to a report that a man had been thrown from his boat near Indian Channel. They found an empty boat and the man submerged behind the craft, fighting to breathe.

When police pulled him out of the water, they found his T-shirt wrapped around the boat's outboard motor propeller, which had killed the motor, but also secured the man to it, deputies said. Police said the man refused medical treatment.
Anyone else surprised that alcohol was involved?

Female Teacher, 38, Caught in Van With Boy, 16 - Jennifer Espinosa

Yet another married, mother of two, middle-aged teacher is caught with an underage boy. That part's not news. What is news is that the boy in question is also--according to police--a gang member and had been expelled from school. And the fact that the cops found the boy with Jennifer Espinosa, 38, after following her Honda Pilot and noticing the smell of marijuana coming from it. When the pulled it over they found Espinosa, the boy and a 22-year-old man that they also suspect of being a gang member. Oh, and a bunch of weed.

At that point Espinosa did the right thing and refused to answer any further questions. No, just kidding: she sang like a bird to officers and admitted having sex numerous times with the underage boy in both her Pilot and at her home. Yeah, someone's going to prison for a long time. At right, Jennifer Espinosa's mug shot picture. She looks sad.

Espinosa told police she “loves” the 16-year-old boy, who was expelled from Maine East in September and is a known Sureno 13 gang member, the release said. Espinosa was taken in for questioning by Sheriff’s police on Saturday night near the Golf Terrace Apartments, on the 9600 block of North Golf Terrace, after police smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from behind Espinosa’s 2009 Honda Pilot, the release said.

As police curbed the car and noticed the windows were rolled down, they noticed one person moving quickly to a back seat. All people in the car were ordered out and Espinosa immediately told police she was a Maine East teacher, the release said.

Officer recognized the 16-year-old boy and a 22-year-old man as known gang members. Police searched the car and recovered a bag of suspected marijuana. Alejandro Landi, 22, of Niles, was charged with misdemeanor drug possession.

Upon questioning of the suspects in the vehicle, Espinosa told investigators she was a teacher and mentor to the boy unti he was expelled. She said their relationship began after his expulsion, the release said. Police said they told them they have had sex numerous times, in her Park Ridge home and in her car at various locations around the high school.

Cops Say Female Teacher Used Facebook to Lure Boys for Sex in Her Minivan - Heather L. Zeo

Some older teachers are afraid of technology.

Not, apparently, Heather L. Zeo, a teacher at North Penn High School in Lansdale, PA. According to police, Zeo contacted at least two underage male students via their Facebook accounts and was able to coerce one of them into a sexual relationship.

The 37-year-old Warrington mother of three was arraigned in Lansdale district court on charges of endangering the welfare of children and corruption of minors. She posted bail of $25,000 and was scheduled for a hearing on June 3.

Police said the 11th and 12th grade teacher used Facebook to contact the students, one earlier in the school year and one in April. The more recent one said that after he got a "friend request" from Zeo, they kissed and touched during her prep period in her classroom six or seven times, according to police. They progressed to having sex in her minivan in a Montgomery County shopping center, according to the police complaint.
The couple continued having sex at various locations in the township and at school up until the middle of May, said Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman.

Earlier in the year, police said, Zeo contacted the other teen through Facebook and told him that she would have sex with him if they were alone together and invited him to her classroom, but he never went. He told authorities they had five or sex sexually explicit conversations.
Heather Zeo faces charges of endangering the welfare of children and corruption of minors and was scheduled for a hearing on June 3. At right, Ms. Zeo in happier, pre-Facebook times.

Man Sets Toilet Paper on Fire, Smears Own Feces on Police Station Bathroom Walls

It all started as a simple request for a guy to pay his bar tab. It ended with him setting some toilet paper on fire in a police station bathroom, taking a crap on the floor and them smearing his own feces on the walls. How does someone get from Point A to Point B? Here's the story from Philly.com:

Shortly before 3 a.m. yesterday, the pub in the Camden County township's Blenheim section contacted police about an unpaid bill. Jason Detora, the patron, said his girlfriend was on the way to settle the tab. When Nicole Leadbeater arrived, officers spoke with her - and arrested her for appearing to be under the influence.

She was taken to police headquarters, and so was Detora, "as a courtesy ... to wait for a ride," according to the police news release. The details of what happened next are probably best left to the police statement:

"While waiting in the hallway of Police Hqs Mr Detora entered the bathroom, when he came out of the bathroom Ptl. Thomas Wynne noticed an odor emanating from the hallway. Ptl. Wynne checked the bathroom and found toilet paper along with paper towels were piled up and lit on fire. Ptl. Wynne also found Mr. Detora had defecated on the floor then drew on the walls of the bathroom with feces. Mr Detora was immediately taken into custody."
Detora, 24, was charged with arson and criminal mischief while Leadbeater, 22, was charged with driving while intoxicated.

Strip Club Manager Arrested for Hiring 14-Year-Old Dance

According to police, any reasonable person would look at this girl and realize that she's a 14-year-old seventh grader . . . but apparently not Jeffery Shawn Martinez, 34, the manager of an adult nightclub in Corpus Christi, TX. Officers say the girl approached them and told them that she had been kidnapped from San Antonio and had somehow escaped the person who abducted her. During her captivity, she allegedly was hired to work as a stripper at the club.

Martinez was charged with sexual performance of a child and employment harmful to a minor, while Leslie Campbell, 48, (the man apparently accused of kidnapping the girl) was being held on suspicion of aggravated sexual assault and aggravated kidnapping.

Woman Accused of Having Sex in Car in Front of Kids, Claims She Spilled Beer on Pants

The cops pull up to a parked car, find two small children in the back (aged 1 and 3) and their mother in the front seat with her pants down with a strange man with her. She says she spilled beer on her pants and was just trying to clean them off, the cops say she was having sex in front of her kids. Either way, is this someone who should make the finals of our Dumbass Daily Mother of the Year?

Authorities said they found 24-year-old Danica Wallace engaged in sexual activity with a man in the front seat. Wallace was charged with two counts of endangering children and public indecency.

She reportedly told police she pulled over to have sex because they could not have sex at a friend’s house. Wallace told a different story in court and pleaded not guilty Monday.

“I had spilled beer on my pants, and when I went to change my pants, the police pulled up and said I was engaged in sex in the seat,” Wallace said in court. “I was not engaged in any sex while my kids were in the backseat.”

Highway Patrol Called in on Case Involving Female Music Teacher, 23, Who Had Sex With Boy, 16 - Alison Peck

Not sure why the Missouri State Highway Patrol is involved in a female teacher sex scandal, but at this point I think the schools need all the help they can get!

According to police, a 16-year-old boy told them he started texting music teacher Alison Peck back in December of 2008 and that eventually lead to them having a sexual relationship. He claims the pair had sex at a park in Dade County and eventually he "visited" Peck at her home on several occasions where they had sexual relations. The MSHP detective says Peck "basically confirmed the boy’s account" for them and was charged with statutory sodomy and statutory rape.

Before she resigned this week, Peck was a a first-year teacher at Greenfield High School after just graduating from Drury University last year. At right, Alison Peck's mug shot picture in which she appears to already be wearing one of those cartoon criminal stripped outfits. Good fashion call on the day of your arrest Alison!
