Well for one thing, she went back to the same well one too many times. After you've already been caught stealing from the local Wal-Mart (twice) the employees there sorta get to know what you look like. On top of that, the crime is a bit unusual, even by "wacky Wal-Mart thief" standards: she grabbed a backpack and stuffed it full of hygiene supplies and over the counter meds.
On top of all of that, the house arrest ankle monitor on her ankle probably tipped off the 90-year-old greeter that this young woman needed to be watched.
What we really like about this story of the arrest of Bridget Coiker of Texas is that even after she was caught by store employees and confronted by cops, this three time loser claimed what she was doing was stupid and then offered to return the items in exchange for being set free. You can't blame her for trying.
And no, it didn't work. She'll probably be sporting a second ankle monitor on the other leg from now on.
Police say a woman traveling from Wal-Mart to Wal-Mart, stealing various items tried to do the same crime a third time in Bellmead. Bellmead detectives say 29-year-old Bridget Coker was wearing an ankle bracelet because she got caught stealing at the same Wal-Mart in Bellmead, by the same employees, on two separate occasions! Yesterday afternoon Coker walked into a Wal-Mart and grabbed a back-pack. She filled it up with hygiene supplies and over the counter medicine. Police say employees noticed her face from the other incidents. Coker tried run when they confronted her, and employees refused to let her leave. When police got there she admitted her actions were just "stupid," and offered to leave the items behind if police let her go.Bellmead woman gets caught stealing from Wal-Mart a third time - KXXV-TV News Channel 25 - Central Texas News and Weather for Waco, Temple, Killeen |
